Ernie Els shared fifth place on 11 under par with Cameron Percy at the ISPS Handa Senior Open at Sunningdale, won by Pádraig Harrington. The other South Africans who made the cut were Keith Horne (T14th), Darren Fichardt (T17th), Retief Goosen (T31st) and James Kingston (T56th).

Schalk van Ettinger held his nerve to seal a wire-to-wire victory at the fifth edition of the 2025 Nedbank Junior Challenge. The 15-year-old former Sun City U13 and U15 Challenge champion triumphed by two shots on four over par at Gary Player Country Club.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout (-3) finished in a tie for 34th behind Scottie Scheffler (-17) at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, the highest-placed South African golfer. Thriston Lawrence (-1) was T45th and Dean Burmester (+3) T61st.

The number of shots Cilliers Craig won the 2025 Nomads SA Boys Under-17 Stroke Play Championship by at Reading Country Club. Craig’s final-round 67 lifted him to six under par, four strokes ahead of Henru Walters and Jamie Smith.

JC Ritchie’s eight-stroke win at the German Challenge at Wittelsbacher Golfclub was his fifth HotelPlanner (Challenge Tour) victory. It was his first win since 2022 and first outside South Africa, moving him four places up to second on the 2025 Road to Mallorca Rankings.

The number of shots Kesha Louw won the Nomads SA Girls Championship by at San Lameer Country Club. Louw closed with a 70 to finish on three over par, with Megan Marais second on 11 over and Casey Twidale third.

The position in which Casandra Alexander finished the fourth women’s Major of the year, The Evian Championship. She was the best of the South Africans, with rounds of 67, 68, 69 and 73, for seven under par, seven shots behind winner Grace Kim.

The Alfred Dunhill Championship will be hosted by Royal Johannesburg GC for the first time since it was played there from 2000 to 2004. The venue change from Leopard Creek, for this year only, is due to the course being placed under stress with this event and the R&A African Amateur Championship being played in a short space of time.

The PGA Tour Champions has announced a new tournament in Portugal, which will be played at The Els Club Vilamoura. The inaugural Portugal Invitational will debut in the week of 27 July 2026 at the course designed by Els, a seven-time PGA Tour Champions winner.

Alex Frankel became only the second junior to win the Sun City U13 and U15 Challenge when he fired rounds of 63 and 69 to win
the U15 tournament on two-under 142. Meanwhile, Josh Moolman celebrated a two-shot victory at the Sun City U13 Challenge to win on five over par.
