Jacques Kruyswijk claimed his fourth Sunshine Tour title when he beat George Coetzee with a par on the second hole of their playoff at the Vodacom Origins of
Golf at Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate. Gabrielle Venter finished as the leading Sunshine Ladies Tour professional on four over par with a final round of 77.

Kaylah Williams (pictured) and Ivanna van der Merwe both missed out on advancing to the final qualifying event for the 2026 Ladies European Tour when finishing T32nd at Samanah Golf in Morocco. Both had eight-over-par totals of 224. Kaiyuree Moodley won the pre-qualifier to advance to the final.

The number of South Africans who finished in the top 10 at Africa’s Major – the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Gary Player Country Club. Jayden Schaper was in a tie for second, on 272, one shot behind winner Kristoffer Reitan of Norway. Christiaan Bezuidenhout (pictured) was fourth, Shaun Norris fifth and Daniel van Tonder tie 10th.

Michael Hollick finished fourth in the Australian Open, three shots behind Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen of Demark. It was Hollick’s best-ever result on the DP World Tour and it earned him an automatic spot at the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. Si Woo Kim (third) and Adam Scott (fifth) also qualified for The Open.
There is room for five amateurs at the 2026 Investec SA Open at Stellenbosch GC from 26 February-1 March. Charl Barnard (pictured) will be joined by Dian Kruger and Logan Leisher, with two additional amateur spots awarded to the winners of the 2026 Africa Amateur and 2026 South African Amateur Championships.

Nine amateurs will earn their national colours for the first time when they tee it up at Houghton Golf Club from 10-13 February in the GolfRSA International Amateur Championship. Renier and Crystal Janse van Rensburg (pictured), Cilliers Craig, Charlotte Millard, Logan Leisher, Andries van der Vyver, Vicki Traut, Andrew Curlewis and Shaun le Roux will all wear green and gold.
The score under par that Caitlyn Macnab reached at final qualifying in Marrakech to secure her Ladies European Tour card for 2026. She was one of 20 players to win cards, being tied for 16th. Kaiyuree Moodley missed earning her LET card by one shot. Also missing out were Gabrielle Venter and Jordan Rothman.

The lowest round shot at the Alfred Dunhill Championship. Shaun Norris dropped just one shot, at the 10th, on the way to an eight-under 62 at Royal Johannesburg, where preferred lies were allowed due to the waterlogged conditions. It catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard, before he lost out to a Jayden Schaper eagle at the first extra hole.

There were five South Africans who were in the top 100 of the men’s OWGR, at Christmas. Jayden Schaper was No63, and Thriston Lawrence (pictured) 65. There was also Garrick Higgo (67), Christiaan Bezuidenhout (80) and Aldrich Potgieter (83). Shaun Norris (101) missed out by one spot. In the women, Casandra Alexander was at No64.

The final total, 12-under-par, of Doug McGuigan as he won the SA Senior Open at Plettenberg Bay. McGuigan had round of 69, 66, 69 to see off Adilson Da Silva by two shots, with Ulrich van den Berg third on 207. Chris Williams took fourth place and Andre Bossert was sixth on 211. Leading amateur was Michael Holden in T21st on 220.
