Hennie Otto was the highest-placed South African finisher at the Cape Town Open at Royal Cape when he was beaten in a playoff at the first extra hole by England’s Will Enefer. Both had finished on 14-under-par 274 totals, Luke Brown and Trevor Fischer Jnr (T4th) and Otto van Buynder (T10th) were the other South Africans in the top 10.

as she shared
second place with Germany’s Helen Briem at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France. Both players shot 66 (-5) on the final day at Golf Barrière to finish two behind the winner, Canada’s Anna Huang.

The score, under par, of Casandra Alexander, who was beaten in a playoff by Germany’s Celina Sattelkau at the SuperSport Ladies Challenge on the Sunshine Ladies Tour. Alexander is South Africa’s highest-ranked woman’s golfer and had rounds of 73, 72, 68 for three-under 213. They finished two shots clear of Nadia van der Westhuizen at Humewood Golf Club. Alexander finished T2nd in the PIF Saudi Ladies International, a Ladies European Tour event, earlier in the month.

Jayden Schaper won his first two DP World Tour titles in successive weeks, both times chipping in for an eagle in the playoffs. He beat Shaun Norris in a playoff in the rain-shortened Alfred Dunhill Championship at Royal Johannesburg and then denying Ryan Gerrard at the AfrAsia Mauritius Open. They were wins 176 and 177 by a South African in DP World Tour / European Tour history.

MJ Daffue eagled the last hole to win the NTT DATA Pro-Am at Fancourt. He closed with a 69 for a 16 under par 200 to claim his first Sunshine Tour title by four shots. Daffue returned to South Africa recently to play his way back into form after a frustrating past two years of injuries and surgeries.

Aldrich Potgieter finished fifth at the star-studded Genesis Invitational on the PGA Tour. Jacob Bridgeman won with Rory McIlroy T2nd, Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood and Xander Schauffele T7th and Scottie Scheffler T12th. Potgieter had
rounds of 68, 68, 65, 68
for a 15-under-par total.

Perth-based Oliver Bekker won for a ninth time on the Sunshine Tour and second on the HotelPlanner Tour when he shot a final round 67 to come from behind and claim the Jonsson Workwear Durban Open by two strokes at Durban Country Club. The event had been shortened to 54 holes.

Fifteen-year-old Lisa Coetzer won the SA Women’s Amateur Championship title after a gripping 36-hole championship final at The Els Club Copperleaf. Coetzer emerged as the 2&1 winner of a see-saw final against Capetonian Kaitlyn van de Vyver. Earlier Charlotte Millard sealed victory in the South African Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship with a clutch birdie on the fourth extra play-off hole. Millard and Isabella Ferreira both ended on seven-under-par 207 after 54 holes to force the playoff.

Bad weather forced the cancellation of the final round of the GolfRSA International Amateur which left Gia Raad and Germany’s Morris Schiefner as women's and men's champions respectively after the event was reduced to 54 holes. Raad won with a one-over-par 217 (74, 71, 72), while Schiefner signed for a 207 (70, 68, 69).

Both Aldrich Potgieter and Garrick Higgo were in the field at the PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am where they tied for 60th behind Collin Morikawa. Potgieter had rounds of 74, 70, 68, 71, while Higgo shot 71, 71, 71, 70, for five-under 283 totals.
