On only one occasion since the Rolex Rankings for women was launched in 2006 has there been more than one South African golfer in the end-of-year top 100. That was in 2022 when Ashleigh Buhai was No 23 and Paula Reto No 58. Currently, Buhai and Casandra Alexander are in the top 100.

The women’s Rolex Rankings, the official world rankings for women, were only introduced in February 2006. There have been 18 different women to reach the No1 spot in that period. Ashleigh Buhai is South Africa’s highest-ever ranked player, peaking at No12
