Darren Fichardt shot rounds of 70, 68, 68, 66 for an eight-under total of 272 to share second place with Matt Gogel at the ISPS Handa Senior Open at The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, two shots behind winner Jerry Kelly. Ernie Els was tied 14th in this Seniors Major on 279, with Retief Goosen tied 20th on 280. Keith Horne (286) was T51st and James Kingston (289) finished T62nd. Hennie Otto missed the cut.

MJ Viljoen finished in a five-way tie for third place in the La Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, in France, on the HotelPlanner Tour. Viljoen had rounds of 68, 71, 66, 73 to finish two shots behind the winner, Julien Sale of France. Bryce Easton was T16th and Martin Vorster at T22nd was best of the other South Africans.

Lisa Coetzer became the first player to win three straight Nomads SA Girls Rose Bowl Championship titles. She won the 2026 event at Heron Banks with rounds of 68 and 74 to finish on level par. She beat Kaitlyn van der Vyfer in a play-off.

All four South Africans at the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open at Dundonald Links missed the cut, with Korea’s Jenny Shin winning. Ashleigh Buhai (+7) missed the cut by one stroke, along with Lee-Anne Pace on +10, Casandra Alexander +11 and Nadia van der Westhuizen +17 in this Ladies European Tour event.

Position that Retief Goosen finished in the 2026 US Senior Open Championship, at Scioto Country Club. He shot rounds of 70, 73, 66, 67 to end on three-under 276, eight shots behind winner Padraig Harrington. Ernie Els (278) was T11th, while Darren Fichardt and Keith Horne missed the cut.

Investec SA Open champion Casey Jarvis finished T6th in his first Open Championship, at Royal Birkdale. He had rounds of 73, 67, 68, 66 for a six-under total of 284, four behind winner Ryan Fox. Five South Africans made the cut at Royal Birkdale: Casey, Hennie du Plessis (T46th, 280), Shaun Norris (T53rd, 281), Aldrich Potgieter (T59th, 282) and MJ Daffue (T71st, 286). Jayden Schaper, Michael Hollick and amateur Jack Buchanan missed the cut.

Casandra Alexander finished T10 in the women’s Major Evian Championship in France, while South Africa’s other player in the field, Ashleigh Buhai (75, 72), missed the cut. Alexander had rounds of 73, 66, 63, 71 for an 11-under total of 273. Haeran Ryu made it back-to-back Majors by beating Brooke Henderson in a playoff.

Investec SA Open champion Casey Jarvis was the leading South African in the Scottish Open, the traditional ‘warm-up’ to The Open. He finished T21st on -7, with Korea’s Tom Kim winning on -17. Shaun Norris (T36th), Jacques Kruyswijk (T59th) and Hennie du Plessis (T61st) were the only other SA golfers to make the cut, while nine missed out on the weekend at The Reinaissance Club.

Ernie Els was South Africa’s highest-placed finisher in the Kaulig Companies Championship, also a Seniors Major, won by six shots by Zach Johnson. Els had rounds of 67, 74, 70, 70 to end T23rd on one-over. Retief Goosen was a shot behind (T28th).

Defending champion Garrick Higgo finished T48th on 280 at the Corales Puntacana Championship after rounds of 72, 68, 70, 70 in the Dominican Republic. Dylan Frittelli and Christiaan Bezuidenhout were T69th on a total of 283. Thriston Lawrence, Brandon Stone and Christo Lamprecht missed the cut.
