Altin van der Merwe’s memorable rookie season on the Sunshine Tour, where he came close to a maiden victory, culminated in him being crowned the Fortress Rookie of the Year, which earned him a R200 000 bonus.

Kiera Floyd’s score in the final round of the Platinum Ladies Open at Blair Atholl Golf and Equestrian Estate in March. A nine-birdie blitz combined with an eagle for a bogey-free final round of 11-under-par 60 secured the South African her maiden professional win on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.

George Coetzee claimed his 15th Sunshine Tour title with a three-stroke victory at the Serengeti Playoffs in late March. The 38-year-old signed for a solid 69 to win on

19 under par at Serengeti Estates, with Daniel van Tonder finishing second on 16 under par.

The score to par Christiaan Maas shot when winning the Pauma Valley Invitational at Pauma Valley Country Club, California. It marked the second career collegiate victory for Maas, who previously won the individual

championship at the 2024 NCAA Austin Regional. He won with rounds of 70, 68 and 66.

The position of the highest-placed South African on the DP World Tour’s 2025 Race to Dubai rankings. Shaun Norris was at No 4, with England’s Laurie Canter at the top. Other South Africans in the top 10 heading into The Masters were Jacques Kruyswijk (No 6) and Dylan Naidoo (No 9).

South Africans in the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur from 2 April. Caitlyn MacMab and Megan Streicher are in the field of 72, which includes the top 50 women’s amateurs in the world. The cut will be made after 36 holes and the leading 30 will play in the final round at Augusta National on 5 April.

South Africans entered for the Joburg Open (3-6 April, Modderfontein) and the Investec SA Women’s Open (10-13 April, Erinvale). They are: Casandra Alexander, Nicole Garcia, Lee-Anne Pace, Danielle du Toit, Gia Raad (a), Cara Gorlei, Gabrielle Venter, Stacy Lee Bregman, Kiera Floyd, Nadia van der Westhuizen, Lora Assad and Tandi McCallum.
